All right. I know it's inevitable. I have to go. And believe it or not, there is a part of me that wants to go back to work. A very SMALL part. I just don't want to leave Grady with a babysitter. I don't want someone else (who is not ME!) experiencing those small developments that he makes daily. I don't want him smiling and laughing and cuddling with someone I barely know. Is that bad? I'd feel much better if he could stay with a family member or something. Come on Grandparents....any takers for early retirement? You could totally move to Spring Valley! It's beautiful this time of year!!! At least Derek will be with him for the first 2 weeks, which will make my transition a little easier. I won't have to drop him off anywhere, just leave him here in the morning. *Sigh* OK, enough feeling sorry for myself. I know: many, many parents do this, and everyone is just fine. I will be too. Enough for now.
On a brighter note...we've had some visitors getting in some time with us down here before I go back to work. Tara and the kids came last weekend, and Kenzi was here yesterday and today. Tomorrow the Mitas' are coming by. Fun! Here's some pics from the past week.
Grady and Neo: Cousin Love!
Mesha absolutely adores Grady! Grady adores her too... he's just not showing it in this pic.
We finally used our fire pit and made smores! YUM!
Grady can now officially "play" or rather "eat" his toys. He grabs everything and then puts it straight into his mouth. His toys, blankets, my hair, etc.
Quite possibly my favorite picture of him yet!!! Doesn't he look old? So precious.
Oh, and a big shout-out to Grandpa Mike! He handled his first solo babysitting job on Tuesday night while we went to the Pageant of the Masters with my mom, grandma, aunt Lainie, and cousins Tara & Amanda. He and Grady were both nervous, but everything was just fine and the G-Man was even asleep by bedtime (which is now 7:30pm). Thank you Dad! Oh, and if you've never been to the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna, you need to go. At least once in your life! It was very cool! Thanks for taking us Mom!

Wish I could help you out and babysit Grady all the time for you. That sounds like much more fun than grad school! Thanks again for letting me come down...I had a blast! Hope you get everything completed off your checklist! :)
