Summertime

What is Grady's favorite part of summertime ? I really think it's just being lazy and being able to lounge. He loves that we don't have to get up and rush in the morning (and he is NOT the only one). He enjoys setting up camp on the couch at the beginning of the day and then again at the end of the day to watch some "Diego" or "Princess Frog." Don't ask me what is up with the umbrella- I tried to explain the 7 years of bad luck to him, but he just kept smiling and saying "pease mommy, pease put bella up." So of course, I did. :)

He loves the castle that we have set up in the middle of the living room. At first I thought we would only keep it there a few days, but honestly it keeps the room cleaner. We just tell him he has to put all of his toys and other "stuff" that he collects in his castle. And he does. So at least it's all in one spot instead of strewn out all over the floor!

A peek in the castle window.

We all love field trips. Here we are at the Science Center, where Grady loved playing in the "Kidstown" for hours. We also have ventured to the zoo and the SD fair- but I forgot my camera! Grady loves the stuffed elephant that his daddy won for him at the fair, and it has not left his side since.
Grady has also loved taking dips in the pool with his dada. It has not been too hot yet, but definitely warm. The two of them have gone in the big pool a couple of times now, whereas I have yet to leave the lukewarm waters of the "small pool." Soon. Derek & I were nervous that G would be scared of the water since he began rejecting baths about 2 months ago and only wants to take showers, but that was not the case. He LOVES the pool. A lot. He has no fear. Hopefully we'll get him swimming a bit by the end of the summer!

I was playing with the action setting on our new camera... got some action shots!

I have loved being able to hangout with Ronna and Baby Penn a few times now. He is absolutely adorable and baby and momma are doing so well. I was fortunate enough to get to visit in the hospital an hour after he was born, and now a few times at the house. Grady has even got to meet Penn- and I think it's a good warm-up to get him ready for Baby Kendall! He's so precious! Congrats to Ronna and Heavy!
