It's official.

OK. It's official. We're pregnant. So I officially get to start my blog. I've been wanting to start a family so that I could have a blog, because I want to be like my cute friends and family members that document all the adorable things that go on in their lives....but I just didn't think anyone would be all that interested in the fact that Derek beat we at Wii over the weekend or that we spend the evening picking weeds (again). BUT I knew that my mom, mother-in-law, and aunties would be more that willing to read about their grandbaby/niece/nephew and that I would get a few people to tune-in. I also want to remember everything that happens during the next year(s) and I am horrible at keeping a journal, but I think I may be better at this blogging thing.

So it is an understatement to say that Derek and I are excited. We feel so blessed to have had no problems conceiving and were actually both shocked the night that we saw that cute little plus sign on the test. Here's how we've started preparing for the baby:
Me: eat and sleep whenever possible
Derek: Do the grocery shopping, housework, cooking, yardwork, etc. while I eat and sleep.
He is really a fantastic husband.

We have taken to calling her "Sesame" and referring to the baby as "her" because I don't know, we both just think it's a girl, and I hate saying "it." When we first found out we were pregnant we read in a book that the fetus was the size of the size of a sesame seed and we thought that was a cute name, so Sesame it is. I hope our son isn't too mad at us someday when he finds out that we called him "her" for the first few months of his existence!

Today was my 8-week appointment and that's Sesame there in that picture (she's to the far left). She's a whopping 16mm in length and all is well so far. We saw her heart beating and the Dr. says everything is just as it should be. We will find out the sex on Nov. 5th.....so mark your calendar's!

We love you already Sesame!
