We have been walking the Race for the Cure as a family for years now. I believe we've been doing it for 9 years now. In honor of my mother, my aunt, and family friends.
But this year took on a whole new meaning. Just a few months ago my mom found out that her breast cancer is back. And it's been a tough few months, for all of us, but especially for her. This year we needed to raise more money, get more people together, have a bigger party. Because we all are appreciating life a little bit more. Hugging a little bit longer. Saying I love you a few times more.
And we did it. We raised more than $1,000. We had a great turn-out from family and friends. And I hope my mom knows how much support she has from us all. We know it's going to be tough, but we also know that she can fight this cancer again.
