This year the end of July brought not only my first day of Back to School, but also Grady's first day of kindergarten and Kendall's first day of preschool! Needless to say, there was lots of excitement and nervousness for all of us.
We took Kendall to see her new classroom and meet her teachers, Ms. Georgina and Ms. Gloria. She is attending the same preschool that Grady went to, First United Methodist Preschool (FUMP), which made it easier on both her and us since we are familiar with it and have been very pleased the last 2 years. She was excited at the preview day.
Grady's fist day if Kindergarten was Wednesday, July 23,2014. He was all ready to go, but nervous too. It helped that daddy could take him and that he is going to my school, Casillas! He's been running around that campus his whole life, so at the least he was in familiar surroundings! I found it ironic that I would now actually be physically closer to him thoughout the day than I ever had before. Most mamas have it the other way around! I was so excited to "spy" on him whenever I could throughout the day (only at breaks of course)!
Here he is sitting with Evan and Andrew on the first day. He had a terrific first day and loved his teacher, Mrs. Ayer! He was so excited to do homework, he was actually disappointed to only have to have a book read to him for the first few nights (which we've always done anyway). He couldn't wait to start with the real stuff!
The next day, Thursday, was Kendall's first day of school. Daddy also got to take K to her first day, and she happily posed for these pics all on her own. Props and all. She did really well when daddy left her there! Her first day was a success as well.
