Kids are cute!

Today was my first day back at work and I told my class that we are expecting a baby over Spring Break. I don't know why I was nervous, but I was. They were so excited though and so cute! Here's some of the questions I got today:

• Is it a boy or girl? (everyone asked right away)
• Will you name it David? (asked by a boy named David)
• Name it Alex! (screamed out by Alex....and followed by a reminder to raise hands!)
• What are you going to name it?
• Can we visit you in the hospital?
• Yeah, can we all come on a field trip?
• No? Well, what if our parents will drive us?
• Ok then, can we come visit you at your house?
• Can we come to your baby shower?
• Oh, well then can we have an in-class baby shower?
• Can we bring you presents? (uhhh, if they knew me at all they'd know the answer was yes!)
• How big is it?
• How much will it weigh?
• When it kicks you will you tell me so I can feel it? (asked by one of my boys, which I thought was very cute.)

I thought they would be upset that they would have to have a sub for awhile, but they jusy passed on by that and continued to ask questions. I promised to bring the baby by at some point so they could meet him/her and that made them happy! I was happy that they are so excited! Back to school..... countdown now until winter break!
