Back to Work :(
So it's back to work tomorrow for me. No more days of sleeping in and relaxing all day. Ha ha, yeah right. Not exactly what we've been doing, but I have enjoyed being home with G and am sad to go back. Not really sad to go back to teaching, just sad to get up every morning and do all those things that have to be done before I need to be at school at 7:30am (and really I should be there earlier than that). Lately I've been getting Grady to go back to sleep with me until at least 7:00am, so that's been nice. Today he didn't wake up until 7:30...and then Derek let me sleep until 9:00am! Hallelujah! Here's Grady snoozing in bed with me in the morning.
Here's how happy he is when Mama (and Dada for those 1st two weeks) stays home with him all day!

Getting ready for bathtime! Grady loves taking baths, but I think it's almost time to move into the big bathtub- he's been trying to escape the little one lately!
We've been enjoying taking walks most days lately. Here's one we took with Ronna and Daisy. Grady was so happy the whole time because Daisy was there (and of course Ronna too). He continues to be obsesssed with doggies, and he throws his hands in the air and says "dah, dah, dah!"
Another fun activity that he does almost daily is get into my purse and play with all of the contents (I've screened for small objects, don't worry). Here he is with a few of his fav things: chapstick and keys.
He also tries or succeeds to get into the dishwasher everyday. He's not supposed to do this, but you know I had to snap one quick photo before I got him out of there!
Today we did a little yardwork. We didn't get much done between Grady wanting attention and poor Derek pulled a muscle in his back last week (but is feeling much better now). BUT, we did what we could. Life is always a little more complicated now- but we are loving it!
Just to update you: Grady is doing much better sleeping at night. He's going to bed well now right at 7:00pm without crying (or just a minute or two). He sleeps through until about 3am, and I'm still getting up to feed him then. He then sleeps until morning. Not exactly what I wanted, but one step at a time. The doctor seemed to think that if he's sleeping at least 6-7 hours straight then we're doing well. Next goal is to get rid of that last feeding....but the boy doesn't like to stop playing and eat during the day, so I think he wants to eat at night instead!
9 month check-up stats:
* 18lbs. 15 oz. (25th percentile)
* 29.5 inches (90th percentile)
The doctor continues to call him "long and lean" :)

Good Luck going back to work tomorrow. I am glad you are getting more sleep and Grady is doing so well!
I can't believe how big he's getting! Looks like he's having fun doing chores. You should show him these pictures down the road when he doesn't want to do them! :)
