Fall Break

2 magical words..... Fall Break. Lovely. I very much appreciate getting 2 weeks off of work when no one else does. I am not rubbing this in (Sarah & Kenzi), just stating my opinion. So anyway, I am in my second week off of school, and it's been so nice. Here are some reasons why I love break:
  • snuggling with Grady in the morning and watching Sesame Street
  • drinking my coffee for hours in the morning instead of in the car on the way to work
  • rainy, lazy days (oddly, we have had a few already)
  • meeting friends for lunch, a walk, shopping, etc. in the middle of the week in the middle of the day
  • adult weekends away!
Yes, the last one is true. Derek and I went to Seattle this past weekend to visit our friends Devon and Dave, and we left Grady with my parents. This was very scary for me, and not that I don't trust my parents entirely, I just had this huge fear that he would think we abandoned him. I was very anxious and cried leaving him.....but then something magical happened. He was fine. AND Derek and I were fine. In fact, all 3 of us were having fun! We all had fabulous weekends- us walking, eating, and drinking our way through Seattle, and Grady visiting the farm with his grandparents, playing with all the toys they had for him, and hanging out with his cousins. It turned out to be great. We'll have to do it again sometime soon. :)

We had great weather in Seattle!

The walking part....Dev & I in Discovery Park.

The drinking part....Red Hook Brewery.

The eating part....oh wait, still drinking. Oh well! Dave & Derek having a moment.

Here's the eating part! That would be a vegetarian eating a chicken wing. Ha!

We had a great weekend! Thanks Devon & Dave for a great weekend!

The other part of break that I would like to share is our trip to Julian. G got to pick apples straight off the trees, and enjoy his first apple pie. BUT my Iphone is holding the pics captive right now (grrrr), and I need to get pics from Amy's camera.....so those will be coming next. Instead, I'll end with what Grady does while we're on break and he has to entertain himself in the bathroom while I shower......

Pretty stylish, huh?

Oh yay! I'm so glad you had a great weekend and Grady had a blast with his Grandparents (and dog-Aunt). Ahh, way to rub it in though... :)
