Fall Break (part 1)

Even though I wish Derek had the time off with us, Fall Break is definitely the best for going places and avoiding the crowds! So of course we had to do our usual Fall Break trips. First we hit up Julian for some apple picking and eating. 

Ronna, Penn, and Dane joined us and Amy this year! 

We had some delicious apple pie and cinnamon ice cream. We've been doing this for the past 5 years now, so we've got down our routine of picking, eating lunch, and eating pie! 

The next item on the agenda was Disneyland- a definite must during the middle of the week in September, perfect to avoid the long lines! We drove up to Anaheim as soon as Derek could get home from work on a Tuesday, and checked in at the Sheraton (he played hooky on Wednesday). That night we met up with Gigi and Great Grandpa for a dinner at PF Changs! We had a great visit. 

Lucky for us, Amy and Tim could even meet up with us the next day at Disneyland! So it was the four of us, Grandma, Aunt Susie, Amy, and Tim! What fun! We had a blast and the kids got spoiled (like always). 

Kendall met the height requirement for almost every ride (just barely and for the first time)! Soooo, she got to try Space Mountian, Splash Mountain, and Thunder  Mountian Railroad. She seemed to be a fan of all but Space Mtn. Perhaps we were a bit premature with that one (she is 3 afterall). 

Daddy spent a lot of time in a line to get tickets to meet Elsa and Anna, and then grandma and Susie spent a lot MORE time waiting in line to use said tickets... And then came the moment that we got to meet the princesses from Frozen!!!! AND both Grady and Kendall hid from them and wouldn't smile or say a word, but hey, I got to meet them and talk to them! Lol. They were quite pretty and personable, so I guess it was worth it!  

Overall it was another successful trip to D-land!  And there's more Fall Break adventures to come soon....  :)
